What to expect during your treatment
Acupuncture treatments vary greatly depending on what is being treated. If this is your first visit, your acupuncturist will take a thorough patient history. During the patient intake, you will be asked about your current problem and your past medical history. Different treatment modalities will be discussed and the process of your specific treatment will be gone over. This is the time for you to ask any questions that you have.
After the intake is complete, the treatment will begin. This may include cupping (Glass cups are used to create suction on the body. Cupping helps pull out toxins and relaxes sore muscles), moxabustion (an herb that is burned during acupuncture treatments to warm the area), or homeopathic remedies. The total treatment time will be 45-60 minutes.
During follow up treatments, your acupuncturist will ask you for an update on your condition and then start the treatment.
Facial rejuvenation has been featured on Dr. Oz. This treatment gives the face a “lift” without surgery. Needles are placed in the ears and on the body, usually legs and arms. Next, tiny 5mm needles are used on the face. The needles are left in place for 15-30 minutes. After the needles are removed, the face is gently massaged with moisturizer and pearl powder.
If you are purchasing the 12 treatment package, you will have 2 treatments a week for 1 month, then 1 treatment a week for 1 month.
Weight loss treatments are 2 times a week. One treatment will use electric stimulation (a machine is connected to the needles) and one treatment will be auricular acupuncture.
